We are pleased to announce the First ERCOFTAC-Conference on
Simulation of Multiphase Flows in Gasification and Combustion
in Dresden (Germany), September 18th - 21st, 2011.
We invite submission of abstracts from April 01st to 30th, 2011 via our online system found on the conference homepage www.virtuhcon-conference.de. Authors are notified by June 1st, 2011.
The objective of this conference is to bring together experts and scientists in the field of advanced modeling and simulation of multiphase flows in both combustion and gasification. Multiphase can stand for any combination of gas, liquid and solid matter, focusing on
• LES and (U)RANS calculations of multiphase flows
• Heterogeneous reaction modeling for solid feedstock
• Feedstock characterisation
• Mineral matter reactions (ash/ slag)
• Modeling of spray break-up, (multi-component) evaporation and spray flames
• Calculation of complex thermodynamic equilibria for multi-phase systems
• Gas-phase chemistry for complex fuels and primary reference fuels
• Reduced chemical mechanisms for application in CFD simulations
• Dense particle systems.
